What’s your role at Consult Pharmacy and what does that entail?
I am the Branch Manager. My role involves overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring that we deliver the best quality service to our patients, and supporting our staff to provide the best care possible.
How long have you worked at Consult Pharmacy?
I’ve been with Consult Pharmacy for over ten years now.
What initially attracted you to join the team at Consult Pharmacy?
I was drawn to Consult Pharmacy by the opportunity to serve the community’s health needs. I was a pharmacy student, so my passion for pharmacy made me a perfect fit for Consult. It’s a fulfilling experience to know that our work makes a tangible difference in people’s lives.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Consult Pharmacy, and how has it evolved over the years?
What I enjoy most about my role is working with our friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our pharmacists have great clinical knowledge, and it’s a pleasure to work with them. Over the years, my role has evolved to include more strategic planning and team development, but at the core of it, my favourite part is providing the best service to our patients.
Can you share a memorable experience or interaction you’ve had with a patient during your time here?
One of the most memorable experiences was serving the same patient from when I first joined until they recently passed away. It’s moments like these that remind me of the deep connections we form with our patients and the significant role we play in their lives.
What do you think sets Consult Pharmacy apart from other pharmacies in the Aylesbury area?
Our pharmacy stands out because of our friendly staff, the great clinical knowledge of our pharmacists, and the extensive range of medicines we can access from suppliers across the UK. We truly prioritise our patients’ needs and strive to offer personalised care.
What advice would you offer to someone considering a career in pharmacy or joining the team at Consult Pharmacy?
I would absolutely recommend joining the team at Consult Pharmacy. It’s challenging but very rewarding. My advice is to remember that communication is key for a team to work effectively, and always put the patient first.
Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests?
Outside of work, I enjoy playing football and badminton. Staying active is important to me, and I find it helps me maintain a good work-life balance.
How do you and your colleagues support each other as a team, especially during busy periods or challenging situations?
During busy periods or challenging situations, communication is crucial. We make sure to support each other and keep the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything we do. Our teamwork ensures we can handle any situation effectively and efficiently.
