1. What’s your role at Consult Pharmacy and what does that entail?
I am the HR Manager at Consult Pharmacy. My role is quite dynamic; I assist with daily tasks within the pharmacy, such as dispensing medication and serving our customers. Additionally, I handle the recruitment process by interviewing potential candidates for various positions within our ever-growing pharmacy team.
2. How long have you worked at Consult Pharmacy?
I have been part of the Consult family for a considerable time. I started working in the evenings from 2018 to 2020 after having my youngest son. I returned last June, transitioning to daytime work.
3. What do you enjoy most about your role at Consult Pharmacy, and how has it evolved over the years?
I genuinely enjoy the customer-facing aspect of my role, building relationships with our long-standing customers, and ensuring they receive the best possible service. Over the years, my role has evolved to include appointing new staff and watching them build their own relationships with the community.
4. Can you share a memorable experience or interaction you’ve had with a patient during your time here?
One of the most memorable experiences was returning to the pharmacy and being greeted by the same patients I met when I started back in 2018. Rejoining conversations as if no time had passed was incredibly heart-warming.
5. What do you think sets Consult Pharmacy apart from other pharmacies in the area?
We go above and beyond for our patients, always striving to meet everyone’s needs. Our commitment to exceptional customer service truly sets us apart.
6. What advice would you offer to someone considering a career in pharmacy or joining the team at Consult Pharmacy?
My advice would be to be confident, willing to learn, and trust in your team. While the job can be challenging, it is incredibly rewarding.
7. Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests?
I am a mum of two boys, so you will often find me on the sidelines of a muddy football pitch on the weekends, cheering them on. I also love reading and often have my head in a book whenever I get the chance.
8. How do you and your colleagues support each other as a team, especially during busy periods or challenging situations?
We work hard to adapt to each situation. Communication within the team plays an essential role in such a busy pharmacy. We use our weekly team meetings to discuss and implement new ideas that assist in the smooth running of the pharmacy.
